He had a work trip to Chicago, so she went with him for a long weekend. Their first full day there, they had plans to sight-see (although Jake knew it wasn’t exactly a sight-seeing trip), and after a visit to The Bean, they walked to the John Hancock building. He normally wouldn’t have minded the walk, but on this particular day, that ring was burning a hole in his pocket and he knew that was where he was going to propose. When they arrived at the John Hancock building, they headed up to the Skywalk and walked around for a while. They found themselves on the outside portion of the Skywalk, and Jake knew that was the spot. He waited it out until the other people up top were leaving, quickly scooted in to ask one of them to take his and Emily’s picture, and got down on one knee. Emily hadn’t seen it coming, and it was the perfect surprise!
These two are planning a fall wedding at Veritas Vineyard, and, after spending the evening there for their engagement session, I know it will be the perfect backdrop to their day! Enjoy many of my favorites!
The vineyard guard dogs were quite friendly and happy to see us. :-)
As the sun was getting lower, I asked them if they were willing to climb up the little hill behind the vineyard because I had a vision. They immediately agreed, and we began up the hill. It was MUCH steeper and taller than I had thought, but you guys. It was SO worth the hike!! These are some of my absolute favorites!!!
