At their rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, one of Bobby’s groomsmen stood up and said something that stuck with me…he said that you couldn’t talk about Bobby and Windy and their story without mentioning Jesus Christ. How amazing is that!? Windy is my cousin, but grew up in Texas so I have only ever seen her a handful of times. Our families always had splendid times together, but they were few and far between. A few years ago, God opened the doors for Windy to go on several short term missions trips, and Ben and I were thrilled to partner with her during these times. Listening to her stories, her experiences, and her heart, I was always so encouraged watching her love for the Lord grow. She met Bobby at Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) in college and their relationship grew, with the Lord as the center. I had never met Bobby until the day before the wedding, but have enjoyed watching their relationship blossom and grow and the love they have for each other and the Lord was immediately evident. Everything in their wedding day was centered around their relationship with Christ, and it was absolutely beautiful!
Windy & Bobby, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me the opportunity to capture your beautiful wedding day! I absolutely loved the time I got to spend with the two of you, and cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for you as a couple! Love you both so much!
Windy’s mom made her dress!!
Oh Windy. Just WOOOOOW.
The button sewn into her dress (on the right) was from her grandmother’s wedding dress!
Ha, these guys were cracking me up! Bobby gifted his groomsmen these huge knives and they will make a future appearance in this post!
Bobby and Windy didn’t do a first look, but they did share a prayer together before the ceremony, and it was SO touching. (And don’t worry, Bobby was good and kept his eyes closed the whole time).
The clouds threatened all day, but the sun starting popping out just as the ceremony was about to begin. God totally answered everyone’s prayers!
An absolute favorite!!
Oh heeeey handsome boy on the right!
Just minutes before we snuck out for sunset portraits, the skies opened up and POURED. Windy & Bobby ended up cutting their cake early so that it could be moved out of the way of the rain!
I just adore the kids in these pictures. :-)
Windy and the DJ surprised Bobby with this game…Bobby was blindfolded and 6 different people were pulled from the crowd to kiss Bobby on the forehead, and he had to guess which one was Windy. After the first round, they narrowed it down to 2 (the 2 in the right picture). And then Bobby whole heartedly declared the winner was……not Windy! It was hilarious and the place erupted in laughter!
Since we missed our sunset shots due to the torrential rain, we snuck away for a few night portraits, and I’m so glad we did! I love how these turned out!
Congratulations Windy & Bobby!! I hope Cancun was incredible!
A huge thank you to Ben for being for my 2nd shooter! :-) And to all the vendors who helped make the day beautiful!
