I just love this little family! I first met Erin over 3 years ago when she was assisting at a wedding I was 2nd shooting. We became friends, and we have photographed a number of weddings together since then, despite the fact that we live over 2 hours apart. :-) We’ve also photographed each other’s families a few times, so it was a joy to be able to capture this family again! I hadn’t met their youngest, Penny, and so it worked out perfectly to meet up with them right after Penny turned 1. I drove out to Harrisonburg and spent my evening with this sweet family. Enjoy some of my favorites from our time together!
It was a Friday night last fall, when Amelia opened the door to their home and found candles, rose petals, and notes scattered throughout the house. As Austin waited for her on the porch, Amelia picked up each card along the way, reading so many things that Austin loved about her, from silly to serious and everything in between. When she finally got outside, Austin knelt down on one knee and asked her to be his wife, and she couldn’t wait to say yes!
Jess & Josh’s wedding day dawned sunny and beautiful, but that sun was accompanied by huge gusts of wind that made the already chilly day freezing and rather unpredictable. Between a bike full of flowers blowing over and onto Jess’s dress, and a mighty gust of wind just about ripping her veil out of hair as she walked down the aisle, Jess could have let the weather ruin her day, but instead, the joy of finally marrying her best friend far outshown the weather, and that joy was evident on her face the entire day!
